Veteran music composer Anu Malik has finally broken his silence on the swirling rumors of a rift within the Malik family, particularly concerning his relationship with his nephews, Amaal Mallik and Armaan Malik. In a heartfelt interview with Instant Bollywood, the legendary composer dismissed speculations of discord, emphasizing the unbreakable bond he shares with his brothers, Daboo Malik and Abu Malik, and their children.

Anu Malik, known for iconic Bollywood soundtracks like Baazigar and Main Hoon Na, expressed deep affection for his nephews, calling them his “jaan” (life). He stated, “Daboo Malik aur Abu Malik sirf mere bhai nahi hai, woh mere jigar ke tukde hai. Aur jahan tak unke bachchon ka sawaal hai, woh hamari jaan hai aur hamesha jaan rahenge” (Daboo and Abu are not just my brothers, they are pieces of my heart. And as for their children, they are our life and will always remain so). This emotional declaration aims to put an end to rumors of family tensions.

Addressing the perception that the Malik family is prone to anger, Anu clarified, “Kisi ne bola ki unko gussa aata hai… toh maine kaha, bhai, humein gussa nahi aata. Yeh Malik trait hai. Gussa mohabbat ka hota hai. Hum log ek the, ek hai, aur ek rahenge” (Someone said they get angry… I said, brother, we don’t get angry. This is a Malik trait. Anger is a form of love. We were one, we are one, and we will remain one). He emphasized that what may seem like anger is merely a passionate expression of love, a characteristic unique to the Malik family.

The comments come in the wake of Amaal Mallik’s earlier allegations that Anu had sabotaged his father Daboo Malik’s career out of professional rivalry. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Amaal revealed that Anu’s competitive nature led him to undercut Daboo’s projects, including taking over films like Murder from him. Amaal claimed this contributed to Daboo’s depression from ages 32 to 45, leaving a lasting impact on him as a child. He also noted that Anu sometimes interfered in his own projects but acknowledged that his uncle respected his musical achievements.

Despite these claims, Anu’s recent statements focus on unity and love, dismissing any notion of a fractured family. Amaal, currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 19, received warm support from his brother Armaan Malik, who posted on X, “My brother Amaal has always been someone who follows his own mind… his heart is pure gold. I know everyone watching the show will get to see that”. Armaan’s light-hearted wish for Amaal to “jeet ke aana” (win and return) reflects their strong sibling bond, further reinforced by Amaal’s assertion that he and Armaan vowed never to become professional rivals.

The Malik family, rooted in the legacy of the late composer Sardar Malik, has long been a powerhouse in Bollywood’s music industry. While professional rivalries have occasionally surfaced, Anu’s heartfelt words aim to shift the narrative toward familial unity. As Amaal navigates the Bigg Boss house and Armaan continues to captivate audiences with his soulful voice, fans are hopeful that the Malik clan will remain united, just as Anu promises.
